GCMHA Tiering Policy
Under the GCMHA Tiering Policy age groups will host a specific number of representative teams based on the number of registered players for that particular season.
The overall goal of the association is to host enough representative teams so that approximately 40-45% of the players at that particular age group are playing representative hockey.
Preferred Roster Sizes for Rep teams
NOTE: GCMHA reserves the option to reduce the number of representative teams it will field for a particular season based on the amount of players and specific positions trying out for specific age groups.
GCMHA Reserves the option of adjusting roster sizes to ensure that all positions are filled properly.
Optimal Roster Sizes
U9 AA – 16 Skaters, 2 Goalies
U11 A/AA – 15 Skaters, 2 Goalies
U13 AA/AA – 15 Skaters, 2 Goalies
U15 AAA – 15 Skaters, 2 Goalies
U15 AA – 15 Skaters, 2 Goalies
U18 AAA – 18 Skaters, 2 Goalies
U18 AA – 15 Skaters, 2 Goalies
